Valencia 2026

APRIL XX-XX, 2026 (Exact Dates TBD)

Where a Modern Architectural Wonderland Meets Old European Heritage.
The Best Place on Earth to Expand Your Architectural Photography Portfolio.

An architectural photography workshop in Valencia, Spain, is truly an unforgettable experience—especially when centered around the City of Arts and Sciences. This iconic complex, designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, is a masterpiece of modern architecture, with its sweeping lines, reflective pools, and futuristic forms providing endless creative inspiration. Every angle reveals a new perspective, making it a dream location for fine art architectural photography. Surrounded by Valencia’s rich culture, vibrant atmosphere, and Mediterranean charm, this workshop offers the perfect blend of artistic exploration and immersive travel.
Valencia is just a 3-hour train ride from Barcelona! A great excuse to finally do the
European Photography Holiday Dream!

This workshop will offer a distinctly different experience from Sharon Tenenbaum’s previous workshops. Rather than wandering through the city, we’ll be based exclusively at the breathtaking City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. Mornings and evenings will be spent photographing this iconic location, while midday sessions will take place in the classroom, focused on image review and technique refinement. Each day will be dedicated to a different approach within Fine Art Architectural Photography—whether it's abstract compositions, black and white gradient work, or stacked images of blurred cityscapes. The latter technique will be introduced during a pre-departure Zoom session to help you get the most out of your time on-site.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE COMPRISED OF 3 PARTS:

PART I: PRE-COURSE ZOOM INSTRUCTIONS - 2 three-hour Zoom sessions (total of 6 hours) in which Sharon Tenenbaum will be teaching how to create her signature Blurred Cityscapes (as in her body of work Impressions of a City). Additionally, we will touch on various forms of fine art architectural photography (abstract, expressive, long exposure, image stacking, advanced b&w post-processing, etc.). Sharon will explore with participants the diverse ways in which each location visited during the workshop can be photographed.

Zoom Session 1: XXX, Apr. XX, 2026 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST
Zoom Session 2: XXX, Apr. XX, 2026 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST
Participants will receive the recordings of these sessions.

PART II: FIELD SHOOTING in LAS VEGAS - Guided on-location shoots APRIL XX-XX, 2026. Sharon will be giving personal attention to each participant and guiding them toward achieving a variety of fine art architectural styles. This Workshop is unique from other locations. Due to the concentration of structures within one area, the field shootings will take place primarily in the early mornings and late afternoons/evenings. Midday will be spent in the classroom reviewing images.
April XX - Meet and Greet in the evening at XXXXX

PART III: POST-COURSE REVIEW ON ZOOM - Students will submit 6 images of various fine art architectural forms they took during the workshop. Sharon will review and critique the images from participants in 2 additional Zoom sessions of 3 hours each (total of 6 hours).
Zoom Session 3: XXX, Apr. XX, 2026 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST
Zoom Session 4: XXX, Apr. XX, 2026 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PST
Participants will receive the recordings of these sessions.

NOTE: To maximize your benefit from this workshop, it is recommended to have knowledge of Basic and Intermediate Photoshop (layers, masks, selections, pen tool, and gradients).
The fundamental principles of Image Stacking and Long Exposure Photography will not be taught during the workshop, rather, they will be mentioned, clarified of course, should you have any questions, and most certainly, encouraged to use. If you already have knowledge of these techniques, awesome! You will benefit greatly and Sharon can help you take your images to the next level! However, If you need to brush up on your Photoshop skills and would like to learn the Image Stacking technique, please refer to Sharon’s Online Workshops, which are taught periodically.

This workshop will have a wide emphasis on all forms of fine art architecture as well as learning the Blurred Cityscapes technique. Most importantly, as is the case in all of Sharon Tenenbaum’s workshops, there will be a strong emphasis on developing Vision in approaching and creating
Fine Art Architectural images.

Workshop Price: $2,320 CAD
